It’s safe to say that secret real estate maven Johnny Depp has seen his fair share of ups and downs on the market this year. From successfully selling the fourth of his five Los Angeles penthouse units just this past August to failing to auction off his 41-acre Kentucky farmhouse, 2017 was a particularly bumpy real estate ride for the A-lister. But it looks like the actor is ending the year on a high note: According to LA Curbed, the Pirates of the Caribbean star has officially sold the last of his penthouses in Downtown LA’s historic Eastern Columbia Building, this one for $1.425 million.

After initially listing all five of his top-level units together for a cool $12.78 million in 2016, Depp has slowly been selling the properties off, one by one. And it looks like the new owners of this just-sold property are already getting use out of it; the artful 1,839 square-foot penthouse is already up for rent for $5,500 per month. And while new residents won’t get to call Depp their landlord, the two-story home bears the star’s signature quirky sense of style around every corner.

Inside, Depp’s former one-bedroom abode takes a bright and adventurous turn with its nontraditional color combinations and sculptural accents. Much like the eye-catching turquoise walls that run throughout the first floor, the living room’s enormous mural by Brazilian street artist Osgemeos and industrial-inspired light fixture help set the scene for a fun and decidedly funky place to relax.

The room’s Scandi-inspired and pastel furnishings add a softer, more contemporary feel to the joint living room and galley-style kitchen.

A cozy and equally quirky lounge space awaits by the staircase landing, offering a separate destination to kick back.

Depp’s fascination with colorful decor continues in the master suite, where our favorite design decision in this stylish bedroom has to be the black carpet. An intimidating and tricky color to master, the black hue provides an intriguing point of contrast for the more vibrant pieces in the space, like the bright orange desk and eclectic collection of paintings lining the walls.

Much like the exposed brick wall and original steel-paned windows in the master bedroom, the all-marble en-suite pays homage to the building’s historically luxe roots. The added artwork and dark leather chair introduce a modern perspective to the space.

While Eastern Columbia Building’s dreamy, Art Deco exterior is enough reason to move in, there are also a number of other glamorous bonuses to calling the Broadway address home. Open to all guests, the building’s leisure terrace boasts a saltwater pool and spa, sundeck, and fitness studio.
