3 Design Trends Our Editor-in-Chief Is Shopping This Season

What’s old always ends up new again, which is why one of our preferred means of finding fresh pieces for our homes is vintage shopping. Our first stop is often Chairish—and it just so happens that Domino’s editor-in-chief, Jessica Romm Perez, curated 115 items from the retailer today, ranging from a delicate Murano glass chandelier to a Milo Baughman burl-wood coffee table (a similar version of which can be found in her own living room).
“Vintage puts curation in the hands of the homeowner,” explains Perez. “I don’t like when everything feels too new or perfect—don’t you want people to come into your space and ask about the story behind each piece?” So if there’s a style you’ve been eyeing for a while now, consider an original version rather than a contemporary take. These three standouts from Perez’s curation are where we’d start.
Emerald Green
It was just named the reigning hue of 2020 by 1stdibs for a reason: It’s both bold and classic, a no-fail way to bring saturated color home. And that way doesn’t have to be paint—especially when a mid-century Finnish pendant lamp and 1930s-era glass vessel are on the table.
High-Contrast Marble
Ever since we first laid eyes on Maisie Broome’s psychedelic creations we’ve been on the lookout for swirly surfaces. Enter Perez’s stone discoveries, whose super-pronounced veining makes for a trippy two-tone effect.
’70s Seating
Pay homage to the decade with the real deal: The Mario Bellini Camaleonda sofa is iconic, and while it’s definitely a splurge, you’ll never have to so much as think about buying another couch again. For a pop of Yves Klein Blue, we’re loving these club chairs. Who says ’70s style has to be all about burnt orange?
