After seeing what a charming community Cobble Hill is, the couple researched its great shops and schools, and were ready to buy. So, in 2010, the family—including daughter Taylor and sons Harmony and Son—purchased a three-story home in the area and began a four-month remodel.

Wanting to take full advantage of the home’s ground floor, Li and Gissinger hired a contractor to convert its once-closed-off kitchen and storage rooms into an open living, dining, and kitchen area.

For her coffee table, Li chose a charpoy, a versatile Indian daybed that traditionally doubles as a meditation platform.
