Georgia-based wedding photographer Izzy Hudgins’ work is all about personal connection. “Establishing relationships with my couples and getting to experience their love in all its forms keeps me hooked,” she says. Hudgins, who originally trained to be a fashion photographer, fell into weddings after realizing it was a natural transition from her editorial and fashion background. Ahead, some of her favorite moments.

“This sweet couple booked their elopement in Savannah the weekend Matthew Hurricane hit. Instead of cancelling, they braved the storm and were rewarded with a deserted city in which to frolic for portraits.”

“When The Supreme Court ruled in favor of equal marriage rights, this couple returned to Savannah (home of one of the brides) for their wedding. They were married in her childhood church, which was the first ever gay wedding for that congregation.”

“The day before their wedding, the groom and his groomsmen went to a trampoline park for one last hurrah.  As bad luck would have it, he broke the tendons in both of his knees, requiring emergency surgery. The vows “in sickness and in health” became all too real too fast for this couple.”

“This gal worked in the fashion industry, and her guy loved to motorbike — both of them were huge fans of the outdoors.”

“Right before this bride walked down the aisle, she was overcome with emotion.”

“I love these capelets so much.”

“I love when a bride and her dad create a First Look moment together too, and this one was particularly moving.”

“I love this portrait for its intimacy and the focus on their wedding bands.”

“Golden hour! This portrait was shot candidly during their first dance.”

“This bride chose to do a First Look with her dad and brothers—their reaction is hysterical.”

“This is one of my favorite images—it’s a little weird, a little whimsical, and very editorial.”

“This image is so quintessentially Savannah—the Spanish moss, the wrought iron and the classic car.”

“Quiet, stoic, and everlasting.”
