When we want to spend a relaxing Friday night at home, what do we do? We dim the lights and turn up the tunes. Ambiance is everything when you want to cozy up at home, and the highly anticipated IKEA x Sonos collaboration just made setting the mood a whole lot easier.

Just weeks after revealing the Symfonisk bookshelf with speaker, IKEA and Sonos announced a new two-in-one product that combines light and sound in the form of a streamlined table lamp. Available in a light gray or pitch black, the body of the fixture doubles as a speaker, while a small dial on the side controls the light. The Symfonisk table lamp with speaker will be available in IKEA stores across the US starting in August and will retail for $179.

“We knew from the start that we wanted to challenge the traditional high-tech aesthetics,” Iina Vuorivirta, one of the product designers on the project, said in a statement. “The lamp/speaker partly springs from the idea of the fireplace—one single piece that spreads warm light as well as sound.”

Both the Symfonisk bookshelf and the table lamp speakers are compatible with Sonos products and can be controlled through the Sonos app. While the speakers do not directly respond to voice commands, users will be able to connect them to other Sonos products that do. Additionally, the lamp is compatible with IKEA’s series of smart lights, which can be synced with Google Home, Apple HomeKit, and Amazon Alexa devices for a streamlined experience you can enjoy from the comfort of your living room sofa.

So what will IKEA and Sonos drop next? We can think of a million things—like a mirror that repeats positive affirmations or a refrigerator that warns you when the milk has gone bad. Though, whatever they release in 2019 and beyond, we know it will look as good as it sounds.
