With a few legs and some glue, you can transform the Sinnerlig pendant lamp into a sculptural decorative accent that’s sure to inspire a few bright ideas, not to mention a little jealousy.
Materials
– Sinnerlig pendant lamp – Legs – Spray paint – Glue – Wiring kit
The first thing you’ll want to do for this hack is get a little help—TaskRabbit someone who can rewire the Sinnerlig so it plugs into a wall. You could take this on for yourself, but when it comes to electrical matters, it’s always best to at least consult a professional.
Next, you’ll want to paint the legs. We chose classic parsons-style legs from Home Depot for this lighting fixture to offset its rounded shape and spray painted them a bubblegum pink to really make them pop.
While the legs are drying, use glue to adhere the top and bottom sections of the lamp to one another, so that the fixture won’t collapse. If you don’t want to make a mess with glue, you could also attach the sections to each other using cable ties; anything that keeps the lamp fully extended so it retains its shape.
Once the sections are securely fastened to each other, attach each leg to the bottom of the lamp with screws. The resulting fixture is a weird and wonderful accent that casts a diffused glow.
