If you’re New York-based and in the market for chic Scandi furniture (which is something we perpetually seem to be in the market for around here), your decor prayers have been answered. Stockholm-based furniture brand Hem is bringing its designs stateside, with a flagship North American store in the form of a Soho pop-up.

The shop will be open the entire month of November, showcasing Hem’s newest collections and giving the brand’s American fans a chance to see the contemporary and colorful designs up close and personal. Founded in 2014, Hem embodies sustainable Scandinavian simplicity. It’s also become known for collaborating with leading global designers, such as Italian Luca Nichetto for Hem’s fall 2017 line.

“The NYC Pop-Up marks an exciting step for the brand,” said Hem founder and CEO Petrus Palmér in a press release. “Hem was founded with the aim of democratizing quality design and we are thrilled to highlight our brand’s mission and products to the creative New York community.”

Head down to Soho to view some of our favorites, including the brand’s signature Hai armchair and ottoman, pictured here in a deep green.

Drawing inspiration from exotic plants and bold colors, the rest of the fall collection is statement-making yet refined. A series of 100 percent Woolmark-certified handwoven carpets will bring warmth to your homes, and a curated selection of ceramic pieces chosen from the NY-based Patrick Parrish Gallery will elegantly finish off any space.

The interior decor of the store is just as beautiful as the pieces for sale. To complement the furniture and add even more texture, Hem tapped acoustic brand BAUX for colorful 3D-patterned walls. A variety of plants courtesy of the experts at

line the shop and are available for purchase as well.

But the most unique part of the limited-time store? Hem Pro, the company’s recently launched online tool for design pros and amateurs alike. The service allows interior designers to place contract orders online easily, as well as providing technology to browse inventory and track down trade pricing—basically making furniture shopping easier than ever.

Visitors to the NYC pop-up can experience demonstrations of the technology in-person, and Hem Pro members will be privy to discounted in-store rates and exclusive shopping nights. For the design aficionado, it’s the perfect way to learn more about the trendy Swedish company and get work done in the process.

Don’t miss the Hem pop-up store, located at 325 West Broadway and open now until the end of November 2017.
