Since its inception in late 2017, it’s safe to say that Gucci’s inaugural home decor line has made quite the splash in the design world. True to the brand’s iconic aesthetic, and under the creative direction of Alessandro Michele, the collections have come to embody the bold patterns and unapologetic use of color Gucci is so well known for.

With a slew of pieces encompassing nearly every imaginable decorative aspect of a home, inspiration is aplenty—more often than not, in the form of pattern and color. Intricately embroidered cushions and elegant tea sets bear motifs borrowed straight from the season’s runway collections, ornate seats come detailed with a fringe of a vibrant contrast, and the dinnerware line serves up a daring dose of whimsy.

And while we can go on (and on) about the various other items available in the line, there is one standout piece that is making it out in its own right: wallpaper. It’s every bit as colorful as one would come to expect. Playful and cheeky yet somehow elegantly refined, its elevated aesthetic is the result of a pairing Gucci has so masterfully devised.

Gucci’s Heron print wallpaper is one that skews outside of the ordinary and yet manages to maintain an attainable quality. Set against a saturated background of an earthy-blush tone, the print depicts a pairing of herons and dragonflies, illustrated with vibrant pops of red and a subtle off-white for contrast.

The print is nothing if not utterly splurge-worthy but then again, can you really put a price tag on something as beautifully detailed as this? Needless to say, the possibilities of how one may be able to utilize said wallpaper remain expansive—murals, accent walls, framed art…the list could go on and one.

We first spotted the print in action in this too-good-for-words powder room, where it stood in as the undeniable accent piece that stole the show. Paired with a marble sink surround that pulls from the print’s deeper tonal qualities, it’s the addition of the vintage-inspired fixtures and an elegant sconce that ties the look together. An equally lustrous vanity mirror further draws the eye, instilling the room with a modern detail courtesy of the sleek, mixed metal finish.

Used in a formal dining room setting, the pattern inspires an elegant detail that is unexpected and strikingly captivating. In a monochrome space, designate the wallpaper as the room’s focal point, allowing the panoramic-inspired characteristics to extend a storied quality to the room.

The best way to highlight an already eye-catching print? A vibrant color block should do the trick. Spotted at Bergdorf’s, the wallpaper is instantly accentuated by the bright pop of yellow, reserved for the elegant molding. And lest you feel like the decorative furnishings set against the wallpaper should remain on the modest side, this pattern-filled scene will have you considering otherwise. If there is one thing we’ve learned from Gucci’s home decor line, it’s that there is no such thing as mixing and matching too many patterns—and this can certainly apply to our homes as well.

Lastly, for those who prefer a less saturated finish, the wallpaper presented in an ethereal shade of bright sage. Though be forewarned, this one may be tough to get your hands on.
