Gigi Hadid’s pregnancy cravings are pretty typical for a New York transplant. The 25-year-old model appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night to confirm that she is, in fact, expecting a child with her longtime boyfriend, Zayn Malik—and as she’s been sheltered in place throughout the early stages, she’s been enjoying an everything bagel every single day. So naturally, when her family threw her a 25th birthday party last weekend, they made it breakfast-themed.

In the comfort of her mother’s Pennsylvania home, the model had a breakfast party complete with pancakes, bagels, bacon, and the literal cake on top: an everything bagel-shaped one made by the Cake Boss himself, Buddy Valastro. “I don’t know if it was my hormones right now or just quarantine emotional-ness, but I cried every five minutes for an hour, every time I thought about Buddy making it,” Hadid told Fallon.

Had the sweetest day celebrating my 25th birthday with my quarantine family, who made it so special for me, along with all the love I felt from all over the world! Thank you to everyone for the birthday messages, I carried you with me yesterday!! ?? I am grateful and lucky that my family and friends -near and far- are healthy and safe, and although I missed loved ones I wish I could have celebrated with, know that these times will make us even more grateful for togetherness to be had in the future ! I will never forget my 25th bday! +++The icing on the perfect quarantine bday was finding out my surprise everything-bagel-cake was made by the one and only Cake Boss @buddyvalastro who I have watched for over a decade. I CRIED REAL TEARS! BUDDY! This is a dream come true. I can’t believe you made this cake for me while the bakery is closed. It means more to me than you know, and when we hopefully meet some day you will truly know that there almost isn’t an episode I’ve missed. 10/10 would be a Carlo’s intern whenever needed. ? Grateful, honored, your biggest fan. ?????

Whether you’re celebrating a milestone or not, the model’s at-home brunch plans make for an exciting weekend meal. We’re calling it: Breakfast parties are the new quarantine happy hour. Here’s how you can throw one—no giant bagel cake necessary.

Make a bagel order

If you’ve been flexing your baking skills while sheltering in place, you can whip up your own everything bagels—or you can get New York bagels from places like Tompkins Square Bagels, Russ & Daughters, and Zabar’s delivered nationwide through Goldbelly. Just don’t forget your favorite toppings like cream cheese and lox.

Invest in one “unnecessary” kitchen gadget

Do you need a pan that makes teeny tiny flapjacks? No. But will it bring a little joy to your mornings? Absolutely. This griddle is perfect for making poffertjes, Dutch mini pancakes. Now if only Yolanda Hadid would share her recipe…

Don’t forget the cocktails (and mocktails)

While Hadid and her family seemed to sip on mimosas (and regular O.J. for the mother-to-be), you can get a little more creative with your brunch beverages. Freeze juice in small spherical candy molds and drop the resulting ice cubes into Prosecco (or sparkling water) for instant Bellinis. We’ll cheers to that.
