*warning, spoilers ahead!*

Known for her incredible portrayal of Red Priestess Melisandre on “Game of Thrones,” actress Carice van Houten announced in mid-March that she was expecting a baby with her husband Guy Pearce. Taking a cue from her dark, mysterious character, here’s how we’d decorate baby van Houten’s nursery.

The Color

First things first, we HAVE to talk about the color of van Houten’s nursery. Although she worships the Lord of Light in GoT, the actress’ character is always draped in dark hues — thus why we would love to see the walls of this nursery coated in a rich black color. And, can we talk about this wallpaper? Gorgeous!

The Crib

A light wooden crib would be the perfect touch in a dark colored nursery. And, while we’re at it, van Houten’s nursery most definitely needs a furry black rug! Is it just us, or does it look like something Jon Snow would wear?

The Closet

Even a shadow baby needs a closet to hang their clothes! Without contradicting the dark theme, this copper bar acts as a minimalist way to create a petite hanging closet. Add a decorative trunk to double as storage!

The Sitting Area

Every nursery needs a cozy sitting area for parents to cuddle with their newborn! A gorgeous white chair in van Houten’s nursery would be a stark, but stunning contrast to the black walls.

The Play Area

In honor of Melisandre’s adventures in Westeros, we’d happily place a teepee nook in her nursery. Toss in a couple pillows (and a fur blanket or two!) and she’s ready to snuggle up with her little bundle of joy.

The Decoration

Black textiles, toys, and decorations are a great way to keep with the dark theme in the nursery — especially is van Houten is hesitant to paint her walls in such a deep hue.
