Our days are punctuated by scouting new talent, attending market appointments, and scrolling Instagram in an effort to unearth the products, people, and news you actually need to know. Here’s what we Slacked one another about this week.

Lights On: Yowie x Gantri

I’ve never purchased a lamp faster. Philadelphia design shop Yowie (run by the inimitable Shannon Maldonado) and plant-based lighting brand Gantri are both longtime favorites of mine, so it was like Christmas came early when they announced their collaboration, the Tiny Table Light, last week. I’d describe the silhouette as if a flower and a mushroom had a baby, and its translucent shade looks to produce just the kind of not-too-bright glow I want on my nightstand. Bar Booster: Max ID NY x Moda Operandi

In what’s surely a nod to the greatest film ever made in my lifetime (Titanic, of course), designer Maximilian Eicke of glassware brand Max ID NY just collaborated with Moda Operandi to make his Internet-famous twisted Ghost tumbler look like an iceberg. From the outside, it resembles a frosty glass, but take one peek into its core and there’s a pop of cerulean that hits you like a cool blast of North Atlantic air. Soften Up: Ralph Lauren Home’s Scottish Mill Throws

Lately I’ve been really feeling the color brown. Maybe it’s because layering warm hues—from sienna to chestnut to mocha—brings instant cozy. When I saw Ralph Lauren’s new Scottish throws, woven by the renowned Scottish mill Johnstons of Elgin, I knew I had to have one draped on my sofa. As wonderful as they are individually, I think the magic really happens when they’re layered together in the same space. While a bit more rustic cabin–style than my usual vibe, they’ll go perfectly with my vibrant, playful pillows. —Kate Berry, chief content officer

Parisian Chic: Hôtel des Academies et des Arts

Photography by Benoit Linero

My Paris list on Google Maps is never-ending at this point; I’m constantly saving new restaurants and shops. So you know when a press release for Hôtel des Academies et des Arts popped up in my email, onto my list it went. From architect firm Lizée-Hugot, the boutique hotel (just 20 rooms!) is designed to feel like an artist’s studio, with a perfectly effortless, stripped-down look. Rough plaster walls, black-and-cream–checkered tiles, and perhaps the most Instagrammable sofa of all time make it the new hot spot in the City of Light—just in time for my upcoming trip. —Julia Stevens, associate style editor

Dream Weaver: Marni Market’s New Drop

Whenever Marni Market releases a new collection, I always get excited about peeping the bright colors and cool woven home goods. Think: wicker rocking chairs, rebar-frame side tables, and PVC cake stands, all handmade in Colombia by local artisans. With its latest drop, instead of the designer prices we’re used to seeing, some items start at just $30.
