Our days are punctuated by scouting new talent, attending market appointments, and scrolling Instagram in an effort to unearth the products, people, and news you actually need to know. Here’s what we Slacked one another about this week.
Woven Wonders: Marni Market Pop-Up
From the moment I saw Marni Market‘s collection of woven bags, furniture, and accessories on the top floor of department store Rinascente in 2019, it was love at first pattern-driven sight. I wasn’t alone: Our crew of Domino editors, in town for Salone del Mobile, went nuts buying the pouches and bags in the coolest mix of colors. This summer the brand is popping up at Sunset Beach on Shelter Island. Not only will the space scratch that travel-to-coastal-Italy itch, you can take home the chic energy of a Milanese rooftop to enjoy all year round. Walls are painted in the most appealing deep caramel and hot pink, and the overscale rocking chairs, chaises, and baskets truly pop against the backdrop of the Long Island Sound. Suds Up: Maude Body Wash
In my former life, I was a sex and relationships editor, and so I’ve always admired Maude for its shame-free, cleanly designed products. Best of all is the company’s new body wash, a favorite of Dakota Johnson’s—what good taste she has! (Truth be told, she’s an investor in the brand.) Not only does it smell like an expensive spa thanks to cedarwood and pink pepper, the brown bottle looks pretty on my bathroom ledge. —Julie Vadnal, deputy editor
Buzzworthy: Black Fox Coffee
Over the past year and a half, making coffee at home is something I’ve become a little too familiar with. The chorelike ritual of measuring beans and letting the grounds bloom isn’t exactly exhilarating. But New York City coffee shop Black Fox has changed that with its new signature blends, bagged in some of the best packaging I’ve seen. The marbleized graphics remind me of that smoky swirl effect you get when pouring milk into cold brew, and the taste is truly multidimensional. Clear some counter space; you’re going to want these buzzy bags front and center in your coffee station. —Julia Stevens, associate style editor
Camp Everywhere: The Get Out
It would surprise no one who knows me that I am not the most outdoor-savvy. While I enjoy the occasional nature walk, I rarely spend hours outside, and I’ve certainly never been camping. A new brand by luxury camping and event production company Shelter Co., however, might just have me reconsidering my stance. The Get Out makes outdoor gear for any adventure (even if it’s just drinks on your balcony). Every piece is carefully designed, from the A-frame tents, which come in tons of cool color combinations, to the durable Anywhere Rug. I’m eyeing pieces I can use on the regular, like the cooler bag and the enamel dishware set, both perfect for weekend hangs. —Erin Cunningham, deputy editor, creative studio
Paper Trail: Casa Felix
I still enjoy putting pen to paper, especially when it comes to thank-you notes. With summer house visits and backyard barbecue invites in full swing, I love to find fresh gift ideas for generous hosts. I just refreshed my stationery stash with some new lush designs from Casa Felix. The female-owned, Miami-based company creates beautiful bespoke stationery, place cards, menu cards, and gift tags. — Benjamin Reynaert, style director
