Our days are punctuated by scouting new talent, attending market appointments, and scrolling Instagram in an effort to unearth the products, people, and news you actually need to know. Here’s what we Slacked one another about this week.

Pantry Flex: Firebelly Tea

What’s one perk of temperatures dropping? Enjoying a hot cup of tea under a cozy blanket with your latest read (might we suggest Domino’s digital issue). Just-launched brand Firebelly Tea first caught my eye for its minimalist packaging—you can line up the pastel-hued boxes on your counter like books on a shelf (because don’t we all want a tea library) or unbox them to unveil the simple paper bags. The unique blends—such as green tea with cinnamon and licorice root and lemon verbena, chamomile, and lavender—are just the beginning; the company offers chic stoneware teapots, too. —Julia Stevens, associate style editor

The Swiss Army Knife of Furniture: Loose Parts

Even though I just got settled into my apartment, moving is still on my mind—or at least it is when I’m buying furniture for my space. I’m always looking for pieces that can change and grow with each new (and slightly bigger) home I upgrade to, which is why Loose Parts’s new Oak collection is at the top of my shopping list. The assembly kit comes with 32 rails of varying lengths, reversible trays, brass clothing rods, and more, so it can go from being a console table to a bookshelf in a flash. Bonus: It’s made out of sustainably harvested wood, using nontoxic finishes. —Lydia Geisel, associate home editor

Retail Therapy: Good Friend

I would like one of everything from Good Friend, please. This new design shop, founded by former design and fashion merchandiser Jon Boschetto, stocks a mix of goods from familiar names and those lesser known, and I can’t help but be in love with it all. Whether it’s Flamingo Estate’s cult scents, Sabre Paris’s Bistrot cutlery, Olga Goose’s peanut candles, or mugs and dishes from Mushimegane Books, the earthy, a little weird, and “I picked this up while traveling” vibe speaks directly to me. —Samantha Weiss-Hills, deputy commerce editor

Best Foot Forward: Tenoverten

I really tuned into the joy of at-home nail care as a new form of self-care during the pandemic—sourcing unsatisfying but utilitarian products from all over that did the job for months but weren’t well designed or responsibly made. Tenoverten’s recent reboot, however, boasts beautifully considered at-home products and tools that are design forward and ingredient focused. My current faves are The Right Foot, a super-satisfying callus removing file, and The Cocoon, a moisture-rich hand and foot cream that I put on before bed to wake up with smoother and softer skin—is glowing feet a thing? —Jessica Romm Perez, editor at large

One-Stop Shop: Houses & Parties Pop-Up at The Carlyle

This year may have been mostly doom and gloom, but on the plus side: Holiday parties are back! And no one knows how to throw a festive soiree quite like Rebecca Gardner of Houses & Parties. From December 2 to 12, Gardener is taking her talents to a pop-up shop at the iconic Carlyle Hotel. Even if you’re just window-shopping the expertly curated mix of vintage and new tableware and gifts, seeing her style IRL will leave you with a healthy dose of inspiration for your next gathering. —Kate McGregor, associate design editor
