Cozy Comforts: Therma Kota Shearling Throw Pillows

Therma Kota cofounder Mosha Lundstrom Halbert recently told me that shearling (the star material of her family’s outerwear brand) is traditionally incorporated into Scandinavian nurseries because it is said to take on the scent of the mother, helping fussy newborns fall asleep. If that doesn’t make you want to snuggle up with one of the brand’s new shearling throw pillows, made from offcuts, I don’t know what will. The pieces are sustainably produced in Canada—even the filling is fluff and fabric from previous pieces—and there’s a beach ball–shaped one that is as far from the all-too-ubiquitous karate-chopped cushion as it gets. —Lindsey Mather, editorial director, home

All Set: Sarah Espeute’s Oeuvres Sensibles

Why set the table when you could have it set for you? Sarah Espeute’s new line of table linens, Oeuvres Sensibles, makes that possible with her incredibly detailed embroidery, illustrating all that goes on the table, from oysters to escargot to forks and knives. (Now there’s truly no excuse for messing up your flatware placement.) Espeute is based in the French beach town of Marseille, so it’s no wonder her designs are filled with lovely seafood. Everything is currently available for preorder and also on display through September 23 at Paris’s Galerie Bertrand Grimont, which will be my first stop while in town for the trade show Maison et Objet. Home School: Amanda Jane Jones Alphabet Print

I am super-excited about this Alphabet print, designed exclusively for Schoolhouse by my friend Amanda Jane Jones. It will be perfect for my little girl’s room as I start to teach her letters. And what better way to do it than with this simple Helvetica font? (Of course I noticed the font.) Now if only I could decide on a color! Rachel Lasserre, contributing design director

Camera Guy: Tyler Mitchell’s New Exhibitions

Photography by Tyler Mitchell. Courtesy of the artist and Jack Shainman Gallery, New York.

Tyler Mitchell has been busy the past year, photographing Vice President Kamala Harris for the cover of Vogue; shooting campaigns for fashion label Loewe; and, as of late, working on his first two solo exhibitions, on view at Jack Shainman Gallery through October 30. I’m excited to check out the one titled “Dreaming in Real Time,” which explores ideas of community and growing up in the American South. His images stay with you far long after you see his work, capturing thoughtful storytelling, a vivid use of color, and visually arresting movement.Megan West, head of brand + creative studio

Light It Up: Farrow & Ball x Tala

I feel very lucky to have a small backyard at my New York apartment building, where I like to unwind after a busy day of meetings. This Farrow & Ball lamp, made in collaboration with British lighting brand Tala, is exactly what I need for my end-of-summer late-night reading sessions. Called the Muse, it’s wireless, portable, and sustainable, and comes in three of the paint company’s shades, but the green-gray version is my favorite. It also has more than 24 hours of battery life, so I won’t even have to recharge it if my book gets really, really good. Edith Rousselot, editorial intern
