Ever waste an entire Sunday trying to put together a new piece of furniture, only to realize you don’t have the one tool you absolutely need to complete the puzzle? While we love Ikea as much as the next person, we’re also always on the lookout for furniture that doesn’t call for blood, sweat, and tears in the instructions manual.

Adding to their already sleek lineup of minimal home essentials, Floyd, a Detroit-based, e-commerce furniture maker, is expanding their collection beyond the bedroom with the release of a sleek new side table. The company’s newest addition (officially available to shop today) follows the arrival of their first-ever dining table, which launched just this past fall. The time you can expect to spend assembling either of the two pieces? Five minutes, max.

Founded with the hope of minimizing disposable furniture, Floyd’s easy-to-assemble pieces are not only made stateside, but they’re made to last. Since the launch of their minimal, modular bed frame back in 2015, the company has made significant strides as of late to expand into the rest of the home: First, with their six-person dining table (available in a dusty gray and soft pink), and now, with the release of an equally timeless side table.

“We sourced really unique quality materials and transformed them into a simple, straightforward design that people can take with them in any stage of life,” says Alex O’Dell, Floyd co-founder, of the dining table. “Home is an important space for people; they should be proud of the products that fill it, wherever they might live.”

Both the dining table and its three-legged counterpart take mere minutes to assemble (zero tools required!) and come delivered to your door, free of charge. With only three components to fuss around with—legs, fasteners, and the tabletop itself—it’s really hard to go wrong once everything’s out of the box.

Essentially a spinoff of the company’s dining table, the versatile side table is intended to complement the e-retailer’s other existing birch wood pieces, like their modular bed frame and headboard. But unlike their other home essentials, the design of the side table was actually informed by dedicated Floyd customers. After asking their Instagram followers to tell them exactly what they wanted in a table, the company turned around a streamlined surface in just 10 weeks.

“Involving our customers in these important decisions has been a learning experience, and we’re able to give them the best version of the products they want most,” Kyle Hoff, co-founder of Floyd, explained in a press statement. “In fact, we got the idea for the birch table surface after an overwhelming number of customers asked for a companion to live alongside the

, also made of birch.”

Sliding into the DMs in the name of design? We approve.

Available in two sizes, two materials (birch wood or all-natural linoleum), and five color combos, Floyd’s simplified side table can be custom designed to meet the needs of any quirky or simple space you need it to fill. While a timeless fit for any lonely reading nook or uninspired bedside corner, its strong surface and steel legs mean it can also double as a sturdy stool.

Craving a colorful landing pad for your daily gear? Along with clean, natural hues (Birch and Fog Gray), the tabletop also comes in a subtle blush pink and olive green.
