You either remember your first apartment, or you’re living in it right now. The first time you made every decision, from couch color to the placement of each item in your

gallery wall

was a major day indeed. We scoured Instagram to find some of the most impressive takes on decor from gals and guys who just signed their very first lease.

@donvt.s didn’t skimp on style when decorating her first apartment. We love the metallic gold lamp on her nightstand and her inclusion of a petite palm tree in the bedroom.

@29kvadrat made style her number one priority when decorating her first apartment. This living room is sophisticated and classic. We especially love her gallery wall, and down the road we could see two oversized prints side-by-side working well here, too.

@tashakwasek‘s first apartment came with a petite sunroom, which she beautifully decorated with colorful furniture to complement the stained glass window. This bright room could also double as a great lounge area to entertain friends, or even a dining room on a warm summer day.

For a first home office, @elle_gordon chose an inspirational yellow paint to cover her walls. In addition to the flowers and a scented candle, the inclusion of personal photos bring this “thinking spot” together.

Dubbed “the babe cave,” @hannahcarlos chose to decorate her first living room in a classic black and white color scheme. With the addition of a baby pink chair and pillows, this living room is the perfect place to relax after a long day at work.

@junepremak embraced

scandinavian style

when decorating her first home. The all-white palette is chic and totally impressive.

We love this gallery wall from @kaewinbaranowski. She makes the most of her space by decorating her walls with her favorites pieces of art (and a cute clock!).

We can only see part of this bedroom, but we already know that we love @daniaingeal‘s apartment style. A fuzzy rug, gold accented dresser, and gorgeous candle vessels bring this room together.

Although unfinished, we know that @rachelbhall‘s living room will look stunning when she’s completed it, and we applaud the bold couch choice (it’s tough!).

The lighting in @claywis‘ photo may be dull, but it doesn’t let the charm of this plant-filled space fold. With one or two more lamps, this space could be irrefutably splendid.

@keylala wasn’t afraid to mix and match different styles, colors, and textures in her first apartment. We especially love the bar cabinet in the corner!

The retro hanging light and wooden dining room chairs bring us back to the 70s — in a good way! All @itsbridgecollins needs is a beautiful coat of paint (or a nice

temporary wallpaper

to bring her first dining room together.

When your first apartment has a gorgeous patio, the only thing left to do is decorate it, and that’s exactly what @madisonemikolove did with her wooden chairs and plants.

@leilanitessa has the right idea — this cozy bedroom is the perfect spot to drink a glass of wine at the end of a long day. The whimsical addition of a string of lights gives the room an utterly romantic, bohemian feel. Love it!
