“My home is ‘so domino’ because it was designed for how we actually live,” says Smith, “with modern accents that surprise you but are still functional.”
In the living room, Smith—and her handy husband—designed and built a low, tailored coffee table, supplying linear contrast to the space’s plush furnishings.
The winner—Jen Smith, a professional photographer and owner of Honey Lake Studio, from Tampa, Florida—has a home that perfectly articulates the domino aesthetic: inspired, accessible, chic, and easy. “Pink Palms” is an original print by Smith (you can buy it now!).
Smith creates a style that’s eclectic and homey.
“I wanted to fill my children’s bedrooms with practical things they loved and picked out for themselves,” says Smith, “but not things that they’d quickly outgrow.”
Smith’s home is filled with bold textiles, colorful wallpaper, and furnishings comfortable enough for her family of four.
In the master bedroom, a bold botanical wallpaper serves as an eye-catching backdrop for Smith’s ethnic-inspired linens.
The children’s rooms are decorated with their true spirit and personalities in mind.
