Ellen DeGeneres’s real estate portfolio is as diverse as her dance moves. Ranging from a sophisticated seaside mansion in Carpinteria to a rustic European villa in Santa Barbara, the beloved daytime host has made a habit of purchasing properties that let her find an escape without ever leaving the comfort of California. Framed by palm trees and a pebble infinity pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the star’s newest abode channels the ease and luxury of a destination known for sandy beaches and zen way of life: Bali.

Per Architectural Digest, the A-lister and her wife, Portia de Rossi, recently snagged a Balinese-style mansion in Montecito, California. Spanning over eight acres, the property was reportedly listed for $40 million last year—a hefty price tag compared to the $27 million the couple ended up shelling out.

The 8,000-something-square-foot house would catapult any workaholic into vacation mode. Boasting five bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, the private slice of paradise comes with the amenities and design features one would only find in a five-star tropical hotel, including bamboo ceilings, black limestone countertops, and worn oak wood floors.

The open-concept living and dining room is surrounded on one side by a solid wall of glass sliders that open up to the backyard, where a basalt pebble infinity pool and vibrant green lawn await. There’s also a decked-out chef’s kitchen, a cozy reading den, and a private gym on-site.

Enveloped by a sea of greenery and backed only by the ocean, the incredibly serene estate is the perfect place for a superstar to unwind without sacrificing privacy.

Don’t have $27 million to drop on a tropical oasis of your own? These three home decor finds will turn your space into a sunny paradise.
