Entertaining enthusiasts, here’s some exciting news: Domino has teamed up with iconic tabletop brand Lenox Corporation for a curated collection of dinnerware items to add a bright pop of color to your table—and no matter your personal design aesthetic, you’re sure to find something you love.

The first-ever Domino by Lenox line encompasses all the essentials; so whether you’re in need of an entirely new set or just want a couple of plates and bowls to round out your existing collection, we’ve got you covered. Choose from three vibrant patterns, each with its own distinct character and designed with the Domino ethos in mind. The first set will debut at New York’s Tabletop Market at the Lenox Showroom between April 10 and 13.

That pattern is Optique, a punchy, playful design inspired by the grid shape of digital pixelation. Gradient blues, purples, and pinks create an ombre effect that’s both contemporary and classic at once.

“I was thinking about the Domino reader and what’s commercially viable, whether people are registering for their wedding or moving into their first apartment,” says Domino Style Director Kate Berry of the inspiration behind the design. “Everyone loves an ombre, whether it’s ombre tomatoes or ombre flowers. I was looking at different ways to interpret it, and while I was at an embroidery show, I noticed the cross stitching—which is a gradient—looked kind of pixelated. And on a computer, if you screenshot a color and zoom in, you see ombre pixels. That’s where the grid idea started.”

While the modern print is certainly statement-making, minimalists will love it as well when paired against crisp white table linens and a simple table. Want to go even more pared back? Optique also includes pieces in solid colors. Deep cobalt blue and soft peach provide gorgeous contrast when layered together.

“The solids came in because the collection needed pieces to accent each other. There are a few ideas in the line that work together: There’s the regular ombre, there’s the pixelated version of it, and there’s the solid color with a contrasting border,” explains Berry. “It was truly a collaborative process between us and Lenox.”

After its initial showing at Tabletop, Optique will officially be available to purchase this fall nationwide on Lenox.com and in the Domino shop, as well as at select specialty retailers.

The other two patterns, Technic and Gradiance, will be available to buy this autumn as well at Bloomingdales and Anthropologie, respectively. Technic, a vintage-inspired print that blends pale pinks, deep blue, and electric citron pays homage to retro arcade games. Gradiance is softer, offering floral-inspired reds and pinks in smudged brushstrokes meant to evoke the look of watercolors.

“This partnership allows Lenox to reinforce our position in the marketplace as North America’s leading tableware and entertaining company. We are excited about the launch of this collection and the potential growth opportunities for this new dinnerware brand,” said Lenox Corporation CMO Michele Barbone.

Suffice it to say we’re equally excited to be able to translate our love for entertaining—and, let’s be real, a good brunch—into a collection that’s timeless, modern, and fun all in one.
