Just as the Rockefeller Tree blazes up around this time every year, DJ Earworm faithfully drops his delirious, annual “United State of Pop” mega mashup track, sewing together the best songs of the last 12 months. It’s something we wait greedily for, like presents, office parties, and mulled wine.
Today, Mr. Earworm has dropped “Into Pieces”, 3:57 seconds of all the songs that infected our brains from January, straight through summer, and on into the Holiday season.
Artists blended into the surprisingly smooth mix include The Weeknd, Rihanna, The Chainsmokers, Drake, Lukas Graham, Sia, Justin Timberlake, Desiigner, Twenty-One Pilots, and many more all chilling on top of Calvin Harris’ “This Is What You Came For”. Points if you can pick out every sampled track and featured singer.
Take a look at the equally dizzying video below. It might just be the best thing to come out of 2016. Which isn’t saying much.
