Hi guys! My name is Anna and I’m an interior stylist and blogger based in Denver, CO (find me @annabode). I moved West last summer and have had so much fun discovering this city and finding new places that inspire me — I can’t wait to share them with you all! Denver has such a lovely, connected creative community and is truly supportive of design and the arts. The streets are covered with murals and shops are full of independent makers and awesome vintage finds (like this wall hanging behind me).
My husband and I bought a fixer-upper just outside the city, and have been busy tearing it apart since we moved. Our dining room is one of the few spots that is actually finished, and it’s my favorite room in the house. I love minimal, warm, organic design that mixes vintage mid-century pieces with modern, handmade items – like the chairs, bench, and table with this industrial brass light and modern print. Craigslist has been our best friend out here!
When I’m not hunting down finds on Craigslist, I’m visiting the awesome vintage furniture spots around the city, like @midmodmall in Five Points. It’s a huge warehouse packed with midcentury pieces, and I love meandering through the winding paths and discovering hidden gems.
Not far from @midmodmall is @stowawaydnvr, where you can grab a coffee and quick bite. Denver’s coffee scene is to-die-for, and I have so many spots I love (@blackeyecoffee, @bellwetherclub) but this one recently opened and is already one of my favorites. The interior features artwork by@strangedirt and custom furniture by @shigouri, two local makers I love!
After you’ve gotten your java, head downtown and check out @meekvintage– a mother-and-daughter-owned clothing and home goods shop that’s always filled with fabulous finds. They have such a great eye for bohemian décor, and I never walk away empty-handed!
Close to @meekvintage is @civiccenterdenver, which is home to the city’s major museums and institutions. The @denverartmuseum is a wonderful place to explore and be inspired, and it’s incredibly kid-friendly! The building’s iconic architecture is enough to get your creative juices flowing, but I especially love their collection of Rocky Mountain artists and decorative arts.
Finally, as you head out of town (hopefully to stop at my house for tea and a chat!) don’t miss @ironwoodcollection in Baker. It’s basically plant-heaven, mixed with funky industrial pieces and work by local artists. Thanks so much for following along!
