So many good chairs.

Just around the corner from its original brick-and-mortar location on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, Coming Soon’s new showroom has just opened as a showcase space for its rapidly expanding range of vintage furniture.
“The minute we started seeing that half of our store was devoted to furniture, it felt like 600 square feet just wasn’t enough,” says co-owner Helena Barquet about the decision to open a showroom space. In Coming Soon’s Orchard Street shop, the furniture is limited—really only offering enough real estate for a sofa, coffee table, credenza, and a few smaller pieces.
Still though, as co-owner Fabiana Faria notes, “The thought of a second store didn’t really make sense.” The perfect solution came in the form of a lucky real estate find: a fifth-floor showroom just around the corner from the shop, located at 17 Allen Street.
Inside, windows dot the entire periphery of the space, and vintage furniture—much of it reupholstered in punchy, on-trend colors—sits ready for in-person visits. “We thought it would be great to have another space that wasn’t necessarily on the ground floor, where we had space to shoot more photos,” adds Faria. “We love the neighborhood too.”
The showroom opened this past weekend with a blowout sale and will continue to provide a space for potential customers to see furniture IRL before they decide to purchase. All of Coming Soon’s offerings are also listed online, complete with multiple photos and dimensions.
Faria and Barquet hope that this option will allow visitors to best hone in on the pieces that speak to them. “For some people, it’s nice to see something in your own time online,” Barquet says. “It gives you a minute to digest it and think about it and have a personal moment with it.”
As the small business grows, it will provide more and more eye candy for design lovers to mull over, and with a new space, the duo even plans to start developing their own products. Get ready to add plenty to your wish list.
