This Quaint East Coast Town Was Named the Best Budget Honeymoon Destination

One way to save? Squeeze your vacation into 72 hours (otherwise known as a mini-moon). In its annual ranking of the top honeymoon destinations, U.S. News & World Report dubbed Ogunquit, Maine, the best place for newlyweds on a budget. It’s no St. Lucia (the eastern Caribbean island that stole the overall number-one spot), but what it lacks in sandy white beaches and volcanos, it makes up for in cozy boutique hotels, secluded coves, whale-watching tours, and quintessential lobster shacks. And you don’t have to worry about getting around once you’re there: The hop-on, hop-off trolley can take you anywhere from the beach to the local art museum. 

Now onto the most pressing matter: Where should you stay? Let us introduce La Perla Cottage, a 500-square-foot home on Airbnb overlooking the Ogunquit River that costs just $150 per night. It’s safe to say, it was love at first sight.
