Whether you prefer the clean cut minimalist look or the more fully “styled” maximalist one, no coffee table is complete without a few personal details. We took on the challenge of attempting to style ours for $10 or less! Spoiler alert: it can be done. Take a look!

THE BOOK WRAP Repurpose an ordinary stack of books into an eye-catching accent for the coffee table using graphic wrapping paper. We opted for threecomplementary prints ($6.50 for two sheets!) with a floral motif to wrap our mini coffee table titles. Pair the stack with fresh flowers, candles, or various small decorative accents from around the house.

Recreate the look sans wrapping paper, with a stack of ombre-colored books.

THE DECONSTRUCTED BOUQUET While a bouquet of flowers may be too formal for a coffee table, a few simple tweaks can transform a potentially overpowering bunch into delicate posys fit for the living room!

  1. Disassemble the bouquet and sort by flower type. For the vibrantly colored variety, you can sort by colors as well. Our ($8.99!) arrangement consisted of mums, wax flowers, and a filler.
  2. Snip the stems to allow for shorter flower clusters that will fit within shallow vessels.
  3. House the sorted florals in upcycled vessels, vintage teacups, bottles – and whatever else you can find around the house!

THE FRAMED TRAY Upcycle a framed print to double as a coffee table tray! Simply take out the existing image within a frame with a glass insert, and replace with wrapping paper or fabric. We opted for a muted floral print and a sleek white frame.

Pair the look with a candle and matches – we got ours from a local dive bar – along with a small handful of freshly picked flowers from an outdoor garden.
