One of the most common design misconceptions is that you can’t put wallpaper in a kitchen. Some will argue it doesn’t stand a chance against moisture; others fear food splatter. But we’ve seen one too many beautifully wallpapered kitchens to buy into this myth—Reese Witherspoon’s country-chic space included.

Like many celebrities, the Little Fires Everywhere actress has taken to cooking these past few months and is sharing her recipes with the world via Instagram Live. During a recent tutorial on how to make a green smoothie, we got a good look inside her space and spotted Parisian fabricator Antoinette Poisson’s Jardin print on the walls. The ochre design features scenes of vining plants and nicely fits with the Draper James founder’s farmhouse aesthetic.

Witherspoon’s bright idea is one of many we’ve seen from A-listers, as they reveal sneak peeks inside their homes during quarantine. Here are some other star-approved ways to spice up your space.

The Black-ish actress put her collection of vibrant pink bowls and plates on full display behind glass doors, one affordable way to infuse an all-white space with color.

Popham Desing’s Pacha ZigZag tiles span the entire wall behind Duff’s gas range. Rather than compromise on storage for the sake of making a statement, she opted for open shelves on either side of the hood.

Good lighting in a kitchen is often overlooked. A row of sconces on a track, like the matte black ones in Barrymore’s space, makes it extra-easy to see things clearly when you’re chopping and slicing.

As much as we love a Technicolor kitchen, there’s something to be said for plain wood cabinetry. Kaling’s bare doors make for a cohesive look—even the appliance garage blends right in.

Beadboard isn’t just for walls. The podcaster and Fabletics founder incorporated the grooved detail into her range.

Tiled counters may have been dubbed the worst kitchen trend of the past 50 years, but Heard’s space has us reconsidering the surface material. We’ll take retro charm over pricey marble any day.
