There’s no such thing as a totally neutral wall color. Different hues affect us in myriad ways. Some, like blue and red, have shown to boost productivity, while others have proved to encourage sleep. Then there are shades that will convince you to buy a home. And fortunately Zillow has uncovered exactly what those swatches are.

If you didn’t already know, in addition to listing real estate, the company buys, fixes, and sells properties through Zillow Offers. From the 10,000 houses it has sold through the platform to date, its analysts have learned some key information about what features appeal to buyers the most. When it comes to walls, it’s Behr Premium Plus paint in either Aged Beige, Campfire Ash, or Polar Bear.

Painting is one of the easiest and most affordable things you can do to spruce up your space before putting it on the market, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be strategic about the hues that you choose. While the three colors Zillow’s experts have identified as winners might all fall on the snoozy side of the color spectrum, they’re not there to play up your personality. A neutral greige or taupe won’t distract from standout architectural elements. When your goal is to sell, a blank canvas is a good thing.
