Mariam Naficy’s Napa Valley ranch is a treasure trove of statement art, bold textiles, and handcrafted wares. But does that really surprise you? As the founder and CEO of Minted, the online marketplace for independent artists and designers, Naficy isn’t opposed to bringing the office home. In fact, she makes it a point.

With the Calistoga scenery serving as an inspiring backdrop for her getaway—a space she curated alongside interior designer, Maca Huneeus—each room exudes modern warmth. While Naficy can attribute much of that minimalist-cozy aesthetic to the home’s structural features (salvaged exposed beams and pale wood floors included), unique accessories gathered from all over the world are the effortless thread that ties the space together.

So where does that leave us? With Minted finds gracing every nook and corner, Naficy’s well-loved home is a last-minute holiday shopper’s dream. In this stunning California home, there’s a gift waiting for everyone on your list.

For the amateur DIY’er

While shibori (the Japanese version of tie-dying) has long been a favorite trend amongst bohemians, the dip-dyed fabric has also made waves in the DIY world. As much as the wannabee crafter in your life would like to conquer this print themselves, spare them the stress by gifting this luxe-looking pillow instead. Alternatively, for her headboard, Naficy used Creo Study’s Shibori Lines Fabric to make an eye-catching statement in the bedroom.

Want more gift-giving inspiration? We caught up with Naficy to snag her seasonal advice on all things holiday shopping.

Domino: We all have someone in our lives who is hard to buy for. For the person who has everything, what makes a great gift?

Naficy: I would buy a consumable product, like a favorite dessert wine, for example. My favorite is the Alvear Pedro Ximenez de Anada 2011, a dessert wine from Spain. It’s irresistible. If they’re a parent, I’d also get a wonderful gift for their child, which would be one of Minted’s children’s aprons personalized with a custom embossable tag.

Domino: What’s the simplest way to make a store-bought gift feel personalized and thoughtful?

Naficy: Well, I would definitely buy a nice card and handwrite a note inside! (Minted greeting cards are now available at Target nationwide, by the way). Also, I’d create my own wrapping paper and tuck a fresh flower or botanical into the ribbon.

Domino: For the shopper on a budget, what’s your go-to under $50 Minted gift?

Naficy: I love these personalized notebooks, bound in a chic brass wire and personalized with your gift recipient’s name or photo. I [also] love these new catch-all pouch sets, made from fabrics designed by our community of independent designers—there are two pouches in different fabrics in this set.

Domino: What’s on your wish list this holiday season?

Naficy: I’m hoping Santa will bring me a record subscription from Vinyl, Me Please. I just bought a record player and am listening to my old high school record collection and I’m enjoying collecting more. The Vinyl, Me Please editors have done an incredible job at curating must-have music.
