The Most Stylish Offices of 2017

When you spend the majority of your waking hours sat at a desk, it always helps if the aforementioned desk includes a comfortable chair and cheery desk decor. For proof that good design really can make a difference in your mood, look no further than your office. Where a cubicle may be about as inspiring as a chapter from a high school science textbook, a well-lit office with innovative design, fun accents, and plenty of comfortable seating can fuel creativity and boost your productivity. Here, some of the best offices we’ve seen this year that do just that.

Domino

We try to practice what we preach over here, which is why we put a lot of thought into designing our own office. An open floor plan and (luckily) lots of natural light already make the space feel more spacious, so we focused on incorporating color and pattern to liven up the decor. An emerald green velvet greets guests as they step out of the elevator, and the punchy hues continue in every area of the office with deep blue kitchen cabinetry, a red Moroccan rug, and bright floral wallpaper.

Outdoor Voices

Outdoor Voices recently moved its headquarters to Austin, Texas, and the finished space exudes the same simple style as the brand’s now-famous activewear. Sticking to the signature OV blue and incorporating natural wooden material in every corner of the office, the vibe is definitely a more casual one. Which, given that community and collaboration are at the heart of the brand’s ethos, is hardly surprising.  

Gray Malin

Given the whimsical vibrancy of Malin’s instantly-recognizable photography, it’s no surprise that his LA office mimics the same motif. The artwork is definitely the focus in this loft-style space, which balances clean white walls and hardwood floors with more eclectic furniture and accents.

Ikea

The Swedish retailer’s Malmö office serves as a hub for its creative team. With each of its 15 rooms taking on a totally unique stylistic theme, there’s plenty to be inspired by. From an all-pink conference room—how very on-trend—to a monochromatic black editing room to a whitewashed space complete with walls coated in whiteboard paint employees can scribble on, the office itself is like a mini Ikea catalogue.

Eva Fehren

Jewelry designer Eva Fehren’s monochromatic studio emulates the same contemporary edginess her products are known for. The space is Fehren’s office, showroom, and artist’s studio, meaning that multifunctionality is the name of the game. What’s even cooler is that Fehren designed several of the pieces herself, including graphic paintings that adorn the walls and a marble conference table, so her work is really at the forefront of the space.

Alala

Athleisure brand Alala’s 2,000-square-foot Soho office is exactly what you’d expect from a trendy company situated in one of Manhattan’s trendiest neighborhoods. Clean and minimalist, the space is full of natural light streaming in from windows that provide unobstructed views of the New York skyline.

Crowns by Christy

You might think that decking out your office in floral wallpaper is a little cliché if you happen to be a floral designer, but “cliché” is absolutely the last word one would use to describe the playfully feminine headquarters of Crowns by Christy. The office is located in a basement, but brings plenty of bright cheeriness via a poppy pink decor scheme—even the retro ’50s-inspired fridge is a bubblegum hue—and modern accents like a neon sign and champagne-stocked bar cart.

The Mighty Company

LA designer Jessie Willner of The Mighty Company’s approach to innovative office decor takes the cake for creative repurposing of space. She runs her company from her massive industrial-style garage, which includes custom copper shelving and a hot

situated above the seating area. This is definitely not your standard home office.

Block Shop

Part-office, part-showroom, textile company Block Shop’s workspace is a lesson in mixing patterns. The living room, where the founders meet with clients, is essentially a living portfolio of their work and features a very large yellow daybed with the company’s signature print emblazoned over the top. An eclectic mix of artwork lines the walls, creating quite the statement-making space.
