G&B

Kyle Glanville and Charles Babinski, the G and B, respectively, were one of the first new vendors to open this coffee shop at the historic Grand Central Market in Downtown LA. G&B is a quick stop for unique brews such as the macadamia-almond milk latte and coffee drinks that are made with Ritual, Forty Ninth Parallel or Heart beans, and hop-infused carbonated iced tea.

WHAT TO ORDER:

The iced latte – dubbed “the best in America” by The New York Times, with housemade almond milk and espresso. It’s hand-shaken and served in mason jars over special cocktail-bar-style ice.

Copa Vida

70 S. Raymond Ave.

Located in Pasadena, Copa Vida is a spacious coffeehouse and cafe that serves the top roasters around the country, including Ritual Coffee, Verve and 49th Parallel. Pair these delicious drinks with the in-house bakeshop that offers coffee-friendly pastries and tasty lunch options such as croque madames and smoked turkey melts.

The coffee shop offers the fast and convenient option of customers being able to bring their own cup and use the honor bar for hot and iced coffees and tea.

Go Get ‘Em Tiger

230 N. Larchmont Blvd.

Located in Larchmont Village, this coffeehouse owned by Charles Babinski and Kyle Glanville showcases a minimalist design aesthetic and offers coffee from Bags of Ritual, Heart and Forty Ninth Parallel and tasty snacks such as avocado and radish toast, waffles, pastries and donuts throughout the day.

The Full Nelson – a flight of coffee drinks named after one of the shop’s regulars that includes an espresso, macchiato, cappuccino, and that phenomenal G&B shake.

Menotti’s Coffee Stop

56 Windward Ave.

Try this hip coffee shop located in Venice and owned by Christopher “Nicely” Abel Alameda, who is a two-time winner of the Latte Art World Championship. Menotti’s Coffee Stop serves Four Barrel Coffee and showcases a funky décor design and sets the mood with modern tunes played from a record player.

WHAT TO ORDER:

You can’t go wrong with a latte or cappuccino here, but try the special “noggaccino” drink during the holidays.

This sleek new Silver Lake coffee shop opened in the building known for the Elliott Smith mural and boasts a unique design including origami dinosaurs and a wood sculpture resembling a skeleton that hangs from the ceiling.  Grab a delicious cup of Four Barrel coffee and pair with a mouth-watering dessert from Viva Los Cupcakes, Farm Shop and Sarah Bearclaw.

This sleek Arts District coffee bar located in the Downtown area serves San Francisco Sightglass Coffee and Straus milk, all made with top-of-the-line equipment to make sure the brews stay true. This Santa Cruz-based Verve is a gorgeous coffee bar located in Downtown Los Angeles serves house-roasted coffee drinks and grab-and-go sandwiches and pastries from Short Cake and Cafe Gratitude. Verve shares its space with Juice Served Here, which offers fresh cold-pressed juices and smoothies.

This Silver Lake chic “coffee boutique” with its bright red storefront coffee shop is hard to miss. LAMILL serves Clover- and Chemex-brewed namesake coffee and a full menu of sandwiches, soups, salads, and baked goods such as the popular warm brioche donuts.
