Yes, we’ll admit it: We have a thing for doors. From perusing Instagram for the best entries to drumming up ideas for a colorful refresh, there are no shortage of sources of inspiration at our disposal. And as we make our way into the heart of winter, said obsession with doors takes on a new spin.

Yep, this season, we’re looking to the entries with the holidays in mind, in search of the spots which effortlessly marry a beautiful door with an equally striking (and festively green) design scheme.

Naturally, we scoured Instagram for the doors and entries with the merriest decor, and we certainly weren’t disappointed. Case in point, this stunning, snow-capped scene captured by @vic_nkt.

@bikbok Can you imagine a more charming storefront? London’s Peggy Porschen Cakes, definitely delivers on having the ultimate Christmas window displays. Coupled with its blush rose exterior, the scene is simply a dream.

@clairemenary Leave it to the Parisians to have an entry as inspired as this. We’re certainly no strangers to the many doors of Paris, and so it should come as no surprise that during the holidays, they’ll be decked to the nines. Case in point? This effortlessly cool entry, paired with a multi-leaf wreath with an ever-so-subtle hint of color.

@graymalin We’re all for taking things the traditional route especially for those living in a mono-seasonal climate. This very festive entry touches on all the essentials for the ultimate holiday scheme: bright red ribbons, a statement-worthy wreath, and plenty of lustrous lights.

@alisonfostersnapz Well here’s one rather untraditional take on holiday door decor. Sure, it’s highly unpractical but, we can’t deny the major statement that is putting a Christmas tree on your front stoop. This NYC-based home takes things a step further by decking the handrails and surrounding fence.

@stephaniecrusso The latest trend in holiday wreath designs? Filtering in a handful of dried orange slices for a festively colorful spin. Not only  does it instill an untraditional element but, it makes quite a clever use for all that winter citrus.

@ryelondon Magnolia leaves and eucalyptus make for quite the pair, especially when it comes to decking a door for the holidays. While the former of the two is an understated green—typically reserved for centerpieces or wreaths—it actually makes for a stunning detail in a garland.

@lost.in.ldn Sure, this one may not necessarily qualify as a decorative door but there is something to be said of the effortless elegance of the minimalist approach to the scheme. A bare Christmas tree set outside the picturesque door emulates the modest aesthetic of the season.

@julia.henriksen A rustic storefront paired with a bare, pine garland evokes an essence of bucolic charm. We’re taking pointers from this scene with our interiors in mind, opting for an equally “less is more” approach to decorating a holiday mantel.

@a.littlemickey Dried orange slices and cinnamon sticks lend a delightfully refreshing and fragrant detail to the typical holiday wreath. Set against a beautifully blush-toned door, the scene is effortless perfection.

@ariannasdaily We don’t know what we love more: the understated wreath or the monochromatic scheme of the exterior of this London home. Either way, consider this proof that when your entry looks as picture-perfect as this, even the most modest of door displays can go the distance.
