We’re a few weeks past the pre-fall fashion shows, and from the myriad of colors and patterns, there emerged one common thread or more accurately, one common color. It’s a deep berry that verges on crimson, and it’s inspiring our entire palette for 2019.

Typically seen as an autumnal color, this hue is actually a super versatile one ideal for infusing pops of vibrancy into even the smallest, dingiest spaces. If you weren’t totally sold on the bright tomato red that was so pervasive earlier in 2018, you might want to try berry. The slight moodiness of the tint makes it easier to decorate with and incorporate into any design aesthetic—plus, given the rich, saturated nature of the tone, it instantly makes anything feel more sophisticated.

Here are our favorite ways to get in on this fashion color trend just in time for 2019.

Miniature Barrel Chair, Vitra ($675)

Bring home a bit of interior design history with this chair, a replica of an iconic Frank Lloyd Wright piece from 1904. The sculptural shape and slightly unexpected bright pop of color from the seat cushion pair for what is altogether a guaranteed statement piece. Add to your living room or family room to bring character to an empty corner.

‘Dimore 2’ Vase, Wallpaper Store ($614)

This ceramic piece allows you to get in on two trends at once: Monochromatic tonals and rich berry. The Italian-designed item makes for the perfect focal piece for an empty mantel or console; even left empty, it instantly draws attention thanks to the abstract design and stunning colors. If you’re feeling generous, it also makes for a thoughtful wedding present.

Home Om Wallpaper in “Garnet”, Wallshoppe ($116)
Shop

Self-described “yogi-friendly” wallpaper is meant to bring a bit of zen to your space. And while we’re not sure if it actually does, we’re sure that the striking print is a fail-proof way to add character to any room. It’s made from 100 percent nontoxic, eco-friendly paper, and the scratch-resistant design ensures its longevity. Try it in your entryway to turn what is typically an overlooked part of any home into quite possibly the best part.

Freesia Bamboo Incense Sticks, Gucci ($70)
Shop

Is there anything that says “the height of luxury” quite like Gucci incense sticks? The (actually relatively affordable, for a high-end brand) colorful sticks do double duty, infusing any space with both color and a fresh aroma. This particular variety is freesia-scented, though there are four other scents to choose from if floral isn’t your scene.

Ribbed Placemat (set of 2), Zara Home ($6)
Shop

If you aren’t ready to commit to a full tablecloth but don’t want to leave your dining room table bare, placemats are the textile solution for you. Zara Home’s simple yet saturated variety offers an instant way to pull any tablescape together; thanks to the bright berry tone, you can keep the rest of the decor minimal. Opt for florals in a similar tone—tonal pinks and reds would look great here—as an easy centerpiece to finish off the look.

Blush Single Sheepskin Pelt, Sunday Shop ($105)
Shop

An upscale version of that sheepskin Ikea rug everyone and their mother has (including the Game of Thrones costume department, apparently), this burgundy-colored piece is the pop of color your sofa, your armchair, or even your bed is craving.

Small Metal Tea Light Holder, H&M ($3)
Shop

Technically made to hold a tealight, this tiny H&M storage vessel is actually super versatile. In the bathroom, it’s a chic way to keep cotton pads and Q-tips together on your counter. Prop it on your vanity as a catch-all for bobby pins and hair elastics. It even functions as a makeshift salt cellar for your kitchen—the choice is up to you.

Cast Iron Candle Holder in “Rust”, Ferm Living ($19)
Shop

For a Scandinavian finishing touch, try a cast-iron candleholder. The texture (and unexpectedly decadent color) makes it vastly more visually interesting than a regular candlestick, and the color-blocking opportunities with tapered candles in contrasting tones are great.
