While we’re devoted to our Scandinavian-inspired decor (and IKEA, duh), the designers in Australia are making a serious case for the continent to be the new go-to source for home inspiration. Their penchant for color, modern shapes, unique patterns result in the coolest, innovative accessories we fall in love with at first sight. Prepare to pay the price for international shipping, but don’t worry, it will be worth the cost. Trust us. Keep reading to learn about 13 Australian designers and decor companies we can’t get enough of.

cultiver

Meet your new go-to source for high-quality bed linens. You can’t beat CULTIVER’s sheet sets, which are made from 100% linen woven from French flax and pre-washed for softness and durability. Our favorite shade is (of course) their new blush hue for spring. They also have a store stateside, so you don’t have to pay international shipping! (Score)

lovestar

Because who isn’t Queen Bey obsessed? LoveStar sells more than our favorite vase. Their handcrafted heart-shaped vases are sold in a variety of colors and designs—including glitter—that can be hung or set on any flat surface.

castle

If you like color and pattern, do yourself a favor and pay the Castle website a visit. Their website reads, “We love spots and fluro and pink and yellow and orange and grey and love hearts and flowers and paint and felt and everything that POPS around in our studio. If it’s fun we love it.” They specialize in bedlinen and all artwork is sewn, screened, and painted by Rachel Castle.

electric confetti

Three words: LED. Neon. Lights. In the funkiest, coolest designs EVER. Think bananas, ice cream cones, evil eyes, and more. Good news, custom designs can be made in 6-8 weeks, too. All designs are created by Natalie Jarvis, Melbourne-based designer and illustrator in the modern medium of LED neon.

fox and ramona

Prepare to discover the chicest cement planters, vases, and planters on Fox and Ramona. We love their graphic, black and white designs just as much as we appreciate their abstract pastel-painted vases and dishes.

the woodsfolk

The Woodsfolk is the flagship store to Down to the Woods, a Melbourne based homewares company. Their online site is like something from a dream. Our favorites are the rattan evil eye and the brightly-colored wire baskets.

beneath the sun

Their ply wall hangings (like this cactus) are the cutest things we’ve seen in a while, so please excuse us while we privately covet them, for like ever. (They’re SO cute!) Some more highlights include incredibly cute hanging planters, ceramic bowls, perfectly printed pillows, and bright vases. Don’t miss out on original art by Leah Bartholomew, the illustrator and designer behind Beneath the Sun.

bonnie and neil

We’re sensing a theme here. More bright colors and happy patterns from Bonnie and Neil, in the form of pillows, wall tiles, bedding, artwork, ceramic plates, planters, and more. Creators Bonnie Ashley and Neil Downie brought their skills in floristry, art, textiles, furniture, and set design together to create an awesome textile and home goods brand that we’re seriously in love with.

these walls

These Walls’ wallpaper and pillow patterns cannot be beat. Discover natural, neutral light, and dark patterns that you’ll no doubt want to cover your home in—no matter the room. Their website reads, “It is neither feminine nor masculine – perhaps it is a little of both. It is understated and yet unique. It is relaxed and earthy but still, it is strong.” All designs are hand created by Sara Hingle and made locally.

ivy muse

We cannot stop buying (and dreaming of) planters and plant stands. Spoiler alert: Ivy Muse isn’t helping. The line of botanical wares was created by longtime friends Jacqui Vidal and Alana Langan in spring 2014. All of their designs are made (from start to finish!) in Melbourne. We’re not even going to pretend like we don’t want every single one.

utopia goods

You’re going to like this one. Utopia Goods was founded in 2012 by Bruce Slorach and Sophie Tatlow, who together create the most uniquely designed and hand printed textiles. Each design is inspired by different Australian flora and fauna, so basically what we’re saying is purchase their wallpaper or tablecloth and pretend like you’re in Australia.

dinosaur designs

Dinosaur Designs is just plain cool. Not only do they sell the most beautiful dishware (don’t believe us? Please see for yourself), but they also design impressive jewelry. Designed by couple Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy, all designs are handmade locally in Australia and many are crafted with reisen.

gorman

Okay, so Gorman is mainly a clothing store, but we’re SO excited they sell a few home decor items that we had to include them on our list. Think bold patterns, bright colors, and best of all, pom poms.
