Chic design doesn’t have to be synonymous with high prices—just take a look at some of our favorite mid-range furniture brands, of which cool-girl company Article is a favorite. Known for sleek metal accents, unique shapes, and original materials, we’re all for the mod look the company emulates. Think of it as the perfect addition to your living room or adornment for your entryway… and now, even your backyard is eligible for an upgrade.

Back in spring 2017, the company first toyed with the idea of outdoor pieces by launching its first-ever collection of backyard chairs—but this wasn’t your average patio furniture. By playing with boho rattan materials, teak wood accents, and mod steel fixtures, the company’s first foray into bringing the outside to its pieces was so original and interesting, we couldn’t wait to see what the brand had in store for us this year.

On March 12, we got our answer. Article expanded its outdoor line to include everything from art-deco style lighting and cozy, colorful rugs to woven seating fixtures and sleek, pretty pillows. It’s a first for the trendy brand, which is truly making a name for itself where original design is concerned. Ahead, check out some of our favorites from the new launch.

The Alia bench ($399) boasts soft grey metallics, proving that chic can be cozy too.

With a soft rattan trim and wooden legs, the Ora collection (starting at $249) is the ultimate backyard relaxation set. Light, minimalist fabrics take center stage.

The rustic Sol daybed ($599) contains an array of intricately-designed fibers in various color tones, and looks perfect against the geometric prints and patterns of the Koko and Momo pillows ($49 each) for a more maximalist feel.

For a colorful, chic dining space sure to come in handy for both outdoor soirées and casual barbecues, the sunny yellow Svelti chairs ($49) and eclectic Bali lights (starts at $199) add just the right touch of cheerfulness, and can be dressed up or down depending on your mood.

For a poolside piece that’ll blend in seamlessly with your decor, the Mira lounger ($699) proves that waterproof doesn’t have to involve cheap plastic—the subtle colors and wheel legs allow for easy transport and lend a chic aesthetic.

While outdoor furniture usually features wild colors to mesh with the playful vibes of the summer season, it’s clear that Article has gone a different route. The company has taken its signature contemporary aesthetic and simply molded it to a few new backyard-ready additions.
