We’re officially in the throes of the least exciting time of year. Dull gray skies and cold temps have us dreaming of warmer weather and vibrant colors, so it’s quite fortuitous that Anthropologie’s spring 2019 collection has arrived, providing us with endless amounts of design inspiration to propel us into the new season.

Entitled The Life Within, the line is Anthropologie’s most expressive to date. Think: lush botanical patterns inspired by rainforests and gardens, bold shapes to be dressed up or down according to your personal style, and an abundance of natural, woven pieces that feel unique. The retailer also tapped creative collaborators to round out the spring line. There’s a travel-inspired collection made in collaboration with UK designer Tracy Boyd and a Justina Blakeney–designed rattan bed perfect for anyone trying to channel their inner bohemian.

With over 1,000 products, there’s a lot to comb through. While perusing the spring collection, three overarching trends emerged: maximalist design, natural and organic materials, and abstract shapes. If you’re looking to get a head start on spring 2019, we recommend heading to Anthropologie ASAP, and we’ve got an exclusive, limited-time promo code for our readers to sweeten the deal. Between February 20 through March 18, use DOMINOVIP20 for 20 percent off your full-price home purchase. Run—don’t walk.

Maximalism

We’ve noticed that maximalism has slowly begun to usurp minimalist aesthetics for a while now, and if 2019’s maximalism looks anything like the new Anthropologie collection, we’re here for it. Intricate, vintage-inspired patterns blend with punchy, contemporary colors (who said Millennial Pink was dead?) for a balance that’s visually striking. These items can be paired together for maximum impact or cherry-picked to create more of a focal point in any space.

Peer closely or you’ll miss the fun swan detailing that takes this mirror to the next level. Whether hung on a wall or propped on a dresser, this mirror easily takes the place of traditional artwork as a way to bring interest to your walls.

Organic Materials

While a reliance on natural textures is typically associated with a simpler style, that doesn’t have to be the case. Contemporary silhouettes and a mashup of materials make the natural look layered; Anthropologie’s take on this trend feels anything but one-note.

Amrita Basket, Anthropologie ($138)

Take, for example, this basket. What may look like your typical bohemian-inspired woven basket gets a cool edge in the form of sleek leather handles. Use it to house your collection of throw blankets during colder weather or to give your earmarked magazines a home in your study.

Sydney Slingback Chair, Anthropologie ($1,298)

This sling chair is a nod to the Southwestern trend that’s so pervasive right now. Clean lines and terra-cotta-hued leather make for a contemporary-looking piece; the plush headrest adds another dimension of texture to the already gorgeous chair. If you have the space, this is a great seating option to have in your bedroom as a spot to curl up and unwind with a book before bed.

Bora Coffee Table, Anthropologie ($598)

Get yourself a Justina Blakeney original for your living room. A trendy combination of rattan and cane, this coffee table will anchor your space and provide sneaky storage (the built-in shelves are somewhat hidden, should you want to store more unsightly items) all in one.

Abstract Shapes

We saw the geometric-pattern trend take hold last spring, and one year later, the fad has moved on to a whole new level. The beauty of the abstract shapes trend lies in its versatility. You can make these odd, graphic shapes the center of any room by pairing them against contrasting shapes and bold patterns or keep to a less dramatic style by isolating these funky pieces.

Variations Wall Art, Anthropologie ($1,098)

This is an example of an item that speaks to the versatility of this trend. Paired against a simple white wall, it’s an easy—albeit minimal—monochrome statement. But if you choose to hang this piece on a wall painted a vibrant shade or coated in a graphic wallpaper print, it adds a layer of eclecticism that’ll satiate any maximalist heart.
