Believe it or not, summer is coming to an end. Even though this year’s warm-weather season felt different (the lack of beach gatherings and barbecues, for example), there’s one activity that’s alive and well (albeit distanced): outdoor entertaining. Among all the important backyard decor on the market, there’s only one piece that can accompany you into the cooler seasons—a firepit.

Gone are the days where roasting marshmallows on cool fall evenings meant a major investment and a whole lot of hassle. While we usually think of firepits as expensive and unwieldy, Amazon’s choice is not only über-affordable at $99 but easy to assemble, durable (it’s made from high-quality iron), and extra safe thanks to its spark-protective mesh lid. If you’re not in the mood for s’mores, the pit can be used as a barbecue grill or even a beverage cooler if you fill the center with ice.

If you want to make the most of your firepit, go all out with gourmet vanilla bean marshmallows from Hudson Valley Marshmallow Company, paired with Compartés’s Campfire S’mores dark chocolate bar, Frog Hollow Farm’s best-selling graham crackers, and a roasting stick to top it all off. Summer just got a little bit longer.
