The next time you’re trying to figure out what to get your friend for their birthday, take a page from Amanda Seyfried’s playbook and consider the humble leek. The actress (and crafting enthusiast) shared a peek at her latest project on Instagram: a crocheted version of the vegetable that she made for a friend of hers who is a chef.

Give yours to a similar foodie, a child, or just someone who would appreciate having a yarn allium around the house. What’s more, you can re-create Seyfried’s exact DIY. She bought the pattern from Mary Brown Craft, an Etsy shop that offers a long menu of crocheted food items. If leeks aren’t your speed, try tricolor pasta, an avocado, or perhaps a rotisserie chicken.
