The Spanish villa once owned by Alexander McQueen is officially off the market. The property, sold by Engel & Völkers, was snapped up for $2.78 million, but given the incredible vistas of Mallorca and the serious design pedigree that come with the home, some might say the price is basically a bargain.
The barrier-shattering fashion designer owned the home for five years until 2010. A glimpse inside the expansive 4,844-square-foot villa more than proves exactly what attracted McQueen to the luxe property in the first place.
“The villa offers all the luxury comforts of a prestigious second home in a desirable location on the Balearic island,” said Hans Lenz, managing director of Engel & Völkers Majorca Southwest in a statement.
Inside, the five-bedroom, three-bathroom home has all the fixings of an opulent manse. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow for maximum sunlight and appreciation for the surrounding island views. Marble floors offer underground heating and a clean, elevated look throughout the home.
Fully renovated in 2015, the home also includes an open kitchen and dining area prime for entertaining, two large terraces, an infinity pool, and an underground three-car garage. Though its crowning jewel may just be the master suite: It includes a Jacuzzi-style bathtub encased in marble and tile.
Situated just minutes from boutiques and restaurants in the coastal town of Santa Ponsa, the home is pretty much the perfect summer escape. Whoever scooped it up is in for a real treat—at the very least, they get bragging rights to owning the same space as one of the fashion industry’s biggest legends.
