Alex Redgrave

Executive Editor

Alex Redgrave is the Executive Editor at Domino and Saveur, where she guides editorial strategy for the sister sites. Hailing from Nova Scotia, she currently lives in Copenhagen.

  • Enjoys interviews (the best part of being a writer) and helping talented writers make their stories shine (the best part of being an editor). Collaborating with our creative team on projects is also the most fun.
  • Editor of the bestselling guide How to Split Wood, Shuck an Oyster, and Master Other Simple Pleasures (Princeton Architectural Press, 2015), which was named one of the best books of the year by Amazon.

Alex found her calling as a writer, editor, and media mogul when she launched Redgrave Opinion from her bedroom at the age of seven. She has since reported on the historic 2008 U.S. elections from Selma, Alabama; collaborated with the Canadian International Development Agency in Burkina Faso; and drove across the U.S. in an electric green RV interviewing notable creatives (from director Richard Linklater to musician/activist Kinky Friedman) for a PBS documentary. Previously the associate editor at monthly travel magazine enRoute—where she pulled off a kitchen swap with Daniel Boulud and shadowed food artist Jennifer Rubell, among other award-winning features—Alex moved to New York after being selected to join the Writers’ Institute at CUNY Graduate Center. In 2016, Alex became executive editor at Domino and helped lead the brand’s print and digital relaunch, including helming the popular Domino Kids vertical. In 2021, she also joined Saveur as executive editor, guiding the beloved title into its new iteration as a digital-first platform.

Alex graduated from Concordia University in Montreal with a double major in Journalism and Western Society & Civilization. She was a Fellow at the Writers’ Institute at CUNY Graduate Center in New York City, studying with senior editors from Harper’s, New Yorker, Condé Nast Traveler, The New York Times, Granta, and more.
